The Client
The Lash Lounge, a franchise system offering top-of-the-line lash extensions and eyebrow services, aims to help women look and feel their very best at all times. They wanted to ensure all customers could access their digital properties and have the best possible experience, but weren’t sure where to start. The Lash Lounge knew they needed to make changes to their sites, especially to bring them into compliance with WCAG guidelines, and needed a plan of action to make it happen.
Project Components
Desktop and Mobile Site Audit, Lighthouse Report Review, Planning and Documentation, WCAG Compliant Mockups
Project Context
I identified the main page types across the national and franchise sites to most efficiently and thoroughly review for UX and WCAG compliance. Employing Lighthouse reports as a guide, I meticulously inspected each page type across various devices. Any issues related to accessibility or user experience were documented with detailed write-ups and accompanying screenshot examples.
Upon completion of the audit, I compiled all findings into a 25-page report for the client. The report was structured to prioritize site-wide and critical issues, followed by categorization based on page types. Each issue was accompanied by clear instructions for resolution, with many also featuring small mockups suggesting possible solutions. I put together and gave a presentation on the audit findings before delivering the full document, to best guide the client through all of the information and aid their understanding.
The project also entailed creating three full-page XD mockups for key pages that required substantial revisions to enhance UX and accessibility. These mockups included thorough comments for The Lash Lounge and their development partner, facilitating easy style and image file retrieval directly from the mockup as needed.
